About
I am a fine art photographer based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. I am a self-taught artist that incorporates photography and painting, two mediums that inspire me.
I created Different Eyes Photography Club, to teach local elementary school children to observe and appreciate the world around them through the eye of a camera. I have had the opportunity to photograph and teach photography workshops to children in Havana, Cuba. The results of my work in Cuba were exhibited at the Charles Sumner School Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Intercultural Museum and Art Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to my work in Cuba, I had four one-women shows and exhibited in various venues throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
As an exhibit designer, I hung over twenty exhibits for premier showings at galleries throughout the Washington metropolitan area. I have been a member of the Cade Fine Arts Gallery Art Selection Committee that explored proposals, ideas, and themes at Anne Arundel Community College.
As a Board Member of the Urban Artists Coalition, I worked to enrich the lives of inner city youths by merging arts with education.
I now freelance for local magazines and newspapers and I am documenting up and coming musicians in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
