Istanbul to western Europe

Hi,
Is there anybody who has a experience of travel from Istanbul to somewhere in western or central Europe like German.
I’m planning to do this to Stuttgart by bus or train in about August and also I wanna visit major cities and places on the way.
Any advice to travel cheaper and also where to visit and stay on the way.
