ABU PRIZE FOR HIV/AIDS PROGRAMMES 2008

The ABU is calling for Asia-Pacific broadcasters to send their entries to ABU Prize for HIV/AIDS Programmes. The award recognises the efforts of broadcasters in creating quality programming that educates the public about HIV/AIDS, while at the same time helps to reduce the stigma facing those already living with the disease.

SCHEDULE
Entry Deadline: 15 September
Judging Process: 1-15 October
HIV/AIDS Workshop: 23 November Bali, Indonesia
Awards Presentation: 24 November Bali, Indonesia

PRIZE
US$2500 cash award sponsored by the Global Media AIDS Initiative
Expense-paid trip to Bali, Indonesia to attend a one-day workshop on HIV/AIDS prior to the gala award ceremony which will be held in conjunction with the 45th ABU General Assembly

ENTRY CONDITIONS
All ABU members are eligible to enter the competition.
Entries must have been first broadcast AFTER September 2007.
Content duration for entries submitted are in accordance to ABU Prizes For HIV/AIDS Programmes 2008 Contest Rules, Article 5.
Programmes which have won a prize in other international competitions are eligible for entry.
Entries must reach the ABU Secretariat by 15 September 2008.
Each entry shall be accompanied by one copy of its script in English.
