Afrim Hajrullahu

I realized documentaries for Arte – France, Channel 4 – UK and TV Net – Greece.

I participated in the photo festival “Semana Negra” in Gijon, Spain, in August 1999.

Together with Martha Grannon, American photographer, I organized in Prishtina a photo-workshop project, sponsored by Art Link.

I worked for the British director, David Gothard, in his project “Hamlet” realized in the National Theatre of Kosovo, sponsored by the Department for International Development (DFID).

With the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments of Kosova, I realized the photo exhibition “Kosova monuments 1989 – 1999”, a project sponsored by Kosova Foundation for Open Society (KFOS).

I received the Annual Overseas Press Club of America Awards for an honorable mention in the category of the best published photographic reporting from abroad (The Robert Capa Gold Medal Award) for the work “Heartbreak in Balkans” for Contact Press Images /US News & World Report.
In the year 2000 contest of World Press Photo I was awarded with Second Prize in the category “Spot News Single”. The photography that was awarded was titled “Serb police rounds up Albanians” and was published by the US News & World Report.
