Captioning and keywording

I am tryng to put order in my archive… it’s not so big but at the moment it’s so messy so it’s such a hard work…
Which is in your opinion the best and fastest way to caption and keyword?
I have iview, bridge (but I’m quite new with both) and i am considering to buy or at list try for one month lightroom.
Any suggestion is more than welcome ;-)
Thanks in advance
Albertina
