Viciedo Photography was started in 2004 as the brainchild of a photographer, Alberto Viciedo.
Alberto Viciedo is a recent graduate of Rider University with a B.S in BioPsychology with a focus in Neuroscience. Although, it might seem that this has no relevance to photography as a whole, his scientific mind combined with his artistic proclivities brings together two different perspectives that are portrayed through his striking images. Mr. Viciedo is defined by his sense of color and keen eye for special moments where his images tell the story of his subjects.
During his time as Photography Editor for The Rider News(www.rider.edu/ridernews – circulation: approx. 5,500), Mr. Viciedo and his colleges recieved many accolades from the journalistic community, including the New Jersey Press Association’s General Excellence Award(1st place – Weekly Newspaper – 2005-2006). He is also the recipient of the Society of Professional Journalist’s Best Photo Illustration(1st – 2006) for his “Dollar” illustration http://comm.rider.edu/ridernews/html/archive_indexes/index_10_07_05/index.html).
The flea market series images are part of an on-going collection exploring the nuances of the swap market culture. Images explore the people, objects people put for sale and the feeling one experiences when at flea markets. Al has done publicity work for clients around NJ, some shown here. He has also been featured in band mailing lists, and other promotional material.
Recently, Al has been taking images of many upcoming NJ/NY actors/actresses. Al also continues his work on flea market culture, and other side projects. He is available for commissioned projects and other photo opportunities.
