Alfredo Cramerotti

My subject matter is the relationship between ‘reality’ and its representation, tackled across a variety of media such as Tv, radio, internet, publishing, contemporary art, photography and exhibition curating.

I wish to challenge ‘the dictatorship of the real’.

Among the projects I am involved with, the collective art-media projects AGM Annual General Meeting series (http://www.annualgeneralmeeting.net) and CPS Chamber of Public Secrets (http://www.chamber.dk), with which i co-curated Made In Video international festival of videojournalism and experimental video in 2006. I work now as co-curator (as CPS) of Manifesta 8 European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Murcia & Cartagena, Spain 2010-11 (hhtp://www.manifesta8.es) and as curator at QUAD (http://www.derbyquad.co.uk). I’m also editor for the Critical Photography book series at Intellect Books.

Not-so-often I lecture and publish i.e. in MOLE Magazine, Esse Arts+Opinions, Altyazi, Journal of Media Cultural Politics, Pages Magazine. I have published a book called “Aesthetic Journalism: How to Inform without Informing” (Intellect, 2009).
