Born November 21, 1980 in Kingisepp, Leningrad region. Graduated from the Herzen State Pedagogical University with a degree in Foreign Languages. In 2000-2002 studied at the Photojournalism Faculty of the St.Petersburg House of Journalists in the group of Sergey Maximishin. In 2005 participated in the masterclass organized by Photographer.ru in Saint-Petersburg.
Alexandra has been a documentary photographer since 2004. She focuses on social issues of everyday life, ranging from the homeless, migrant workers, asylums to ropewalkers, circus and street artists.
She worked for Interpress Photo Agency (2003), the New Eurasia Foundation (2006, 2007); her photographs were published in Afisha, Moi raion. In 2007 joined Agency.Photographer.ru.
Alexandra was a prizewinner of the Best Photo Correspondent of the Year (St.Petersburg, 2004-2006) including the Grand Prix in 2006; was commended at the Ian Parry Scholarship (2006). She is one of the finalists of Descubrimientos, PhotoEspana, 2007.
Alexandra will take part in the 14th annual World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam in 2007 and was chosen an artist in residence in Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, the Netherlands, for 2008.
She participated in exhibitions and festivals in Russia, Kazakhstan, UK, Finland, Poland, Turkey and Spain.
