I was born and raised in England, but began my photojournalism career in Portland, OR stringing for The Associated Press. From there, I spent 10 years working as a staff photographer for daily papers in Oregon, Pennsylvania and New Mexico. Since then, I’ve traveled through Central America, India and Europe as an independent documentary photographer earning numerous awards along the way including a Pulitzer Prize nomination, the Community Awareness Award from Pictures of the Year International and the Golden Light Award for documentary photography.
In 2010, my work was featured in A Positive View‘s exhibition at Somerset house in London and in the Panda Gallery in New York City.
Most recently, my photographs have appeared in The Oregonian, The New York Times, Geo Saison, Visual Anthropology Review, People Magazine, MSNBC.com and with Zuma Press.
I am currently based in Portland, Oregon and am available for assignments worldwide.
