On my way to Damascus next week (vacation). Can anyone advise me on the following:

Is it possible to go from Damascus to Beirut and back in one day? How many hours does it take one way (is the road ok/better now?)?

How much would a taxi be and would it be wise to have the same driver take me there and bring me back?

Is it (relatively) smooth to cross the border and get Lebanese/Syrian visas?

I’m still waiting for my Syrian visa from Stockholm, but I’m expecting it won’t be the multiple visa I asked (and paid!) for…

If anyone can help me out with some answers I’d appriciate it!
