Andy Aitchison is an independent documentary photographer working on social, cultural and political issues as both commissioned & personal projects. He works in a reportage & portrait style using digital equipment and medium format film. His work covers a wide variety of events that can be seen on this site and has enabled him to travel in the UK, Thailand, France, Israel, The West Bank & Kenya.

2006 Selected for the Association of Photographers Document Award Daily life series
2005 Winner of the reportage category of the Observer Seeds of Change photography competition. Part of the winner’s exhibition at The Oxo Tower, London.
2004 Winner in the ‘Traditional Rites’ category at the Humanity Photo Awards at the China Folklore Photographic Association. Part of the winner’s touring exhibition, China, Paris, Japan.
