Seing Makara, 36 years old was killed by cluster bombs when the thai army attacked the Cambodian Preah Vihear temple last saturday. Because of the Chinese New Year celebration the affluence of tourists to visit the ruins was higher than other weekends and it was a good opportunity for taking portraits of people with the temple background. According to several confirmed witnesses on Saturday February 5 at about 3:30 thai army started to shoot cluster bombs to Preah Vihear temple and the pagoda next to the temple, while most tourists run quickly away to hide inside the ruins or behind rocks, Mr Makara was video shooting with a small camera the attack, a cluster bomb exploded near him and hurt him but he managed to hide behind a rock when another bomb exploded and killed him.

Mr Makara left behind a widow and three small children.They lived at Villag Tultavey at about 10 km from Preah Vihear temple. He worked as a photographer taking pictures during celebrations, portraits for the locals, landscape pictures for a local magazine and taking pictures for the tourist that visit the temple, his wife is 34 and works at the rice fields.
