anonymous posting?

I’m wondering if there is any kind of way to post on LS anonymously? I ask because let’s say someone wants to discuss and get others’ opinions about a client, agency, job offer, etc., and doesn’t want to discuss it out in the open in a LS thread.

Im not advocating that it be easy to post anonymously, I understand how it could be misused on a forum like LS. But could there be a process that let’s certain folks do it responsibly?

instead of anonymously, you could make your post private, then choose who can see it from your personal network.

thanks rick, but i was hoping for a wider group of people to be able to get involved in the thread, since not necessarily all of my network may have enough experience to offer valuable insight.

thanks imants, but LS is already the perfect place for what Im looking for. I appreciate LS and have got a lot out of it over the years, I dont think starting a new thread is the answer. i guess i could create another account using a pseudonym and post that way, but too many who seem to not take this forum seriously already do that.

I see LS as a way to organize us independent photogs who are constantly exploited and taken advantage of, especially us young folk. I would like to know before getting involved and possibly signing a contract with a client/agency if other photographers could share their very helpful experience

in the past when Ive asked such questions people have told me that they cannot tell me very much because they fear legal ramifications if they were to, for example, bash an agency or client on LS who they’ve had a bad experience with. others have also pm’ed me and told me that they don’t want to talk openly about an agency/client because they don’t want to be on bad-terms with them or others affiliated with them.

I’m not going to poke at this hornet’s nest with a single stupid word.

Im with you Matt… I am in a similar situation right now, but cant really say much, as I am afraid of shooting myself in the foot… especially because I am a youngster just getting on-board with some new clients/agencies etc…..

I dont think there is a way to be able to do it though, because alot of jack-asses would just use it as an opportunity to say stupid shit, instead of post serious questions….

I have found my only other alternative is to have a good list of mentors that I can ask questions privately…

You might just create another LS account with another email address without putting any personal informations ?
