I have been taking photographs since childhood. At the age of 30 I left a banking career in Vancouver and was hired by Reuters as a photographer/editor in Europe. In the late 80’s I was named Chief Photographer in Moscow for AFP/EPA (the two collaborated for a while). In 1993 I was named supervising photo editor for the Associated Press in London, covering Europe, the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia. In 1998 I helped to create the photo department at the National Post in Toronto. In 2003 I moved to Montreal to become Director of Photography at the La Presse newspaper. I have many outside photo interests. I collaborated with Horst Faas and Tim Page in the Vietname Requiem book and am currently involved in photographing the Canadian boreal forest from coast to coast and across all four seasons.
