Spanish Arantxa Cedillo began her photographic career when she moved to
NYC in 2004 with a scholarship for young artists to study the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Program at the International Center of Photography. A year later her NY project ‘An Emergency Room’ won her the prestigious Ian Parry Award.
Since then Arantxa’s work has obtained several recognitions as the Kiyosato Young Portfolio Acquisitions 2005 and 2006, Photography Now 2006, Special Mention Prize at the WHO International Photo Contest 2006, Magenta Foundation Award for Emerging Photographers 2007 and 2008 and the Alexandra Boulat Scholarship TPW 2008 among others.
She is widely published in Canada, USA and Europe in publications such as The New York Times,The Sunday Times Magazine, Marie Claire Spain, El Pais Semanal, The Fader Magazine, New York Magazine, The Globe and Mail,Chatelaine Magazine, Maclean’s Magazine and The Walrus Magazine among others. Her work has been exhibited worldwide in Japan, East Timor, UK, Italy, Spain, USA and Canada.—
