Arindam is a photojournalist from Calcutta. He began his career as an advertising photographer and has worked for major advertising agencies, fashion designers, graphic studios and NGOs. From the very begining he was more interested in street photography which later brought him to photojournalism. He started his career in photojournalism as a freelance in The Times of India. Presently SIPA press in Paris represents him.
In 2003 he received the National Media Fellowship from the National Foundation for India for his work on Indian Coal Miners and in 2006 won the B. Bangoor Endowment Fellowship for his work on Indian Sex workers.
His pictures appeared in Le Figaro, Stern, Der Spiegel, The Sunday Telegraph, Le Monde, Liberation, Le point, De Volkskrant and many other well known publications.
He is now 33 years old and staying in Calcutta with his wife and mother.
