Asad Faruqi

Currently a film-making student I reside in the city of Karachi while working for a national newspaper as a reporter and a photographer.
I also assist in documentary-filmmaking as a researcher, photographer and an assistant director.
I intend to be a war photographer, war reporter and a documentary-film maker.
My decision to pursue journalism as a career was late but a wise one. Previously a student of accountancy, I realized that my real passion lies in journalism and film-making.
Similarly, with my gift of photography, I intend to bring about a change in the society and the world.
Amongst my key inspirators in photography are Robert Capa, James Natchwey, Akhtar Soomro, Christopher Morris, Bernie Boston etc.
