I want to build a portfolio for photojournalism and don’t really like any of my photos that I have. I live in the small mundane town of Ellensburg Washington and not much happens here…ever! I was wondering what I should do or seek for good portfolio pictures.
I can probably make it to Seattle every now and then but that is a stretch of a drive for how much I like to drive. Should I try to get a low paying job somewhere in the world interesting that will give me great photo opportunities or should I just go back to my normal work for 4 or 5 months save up then leave?
Another thing is about lenses if it doesn’t start to big of a dispute. Since I only have Nikon dx cameras right now should I get the 17-55 2.8 or the 17-35 2.8 or just some primes until I get full frame?
The last question I have cause I still see black and white what is more preferred for publications color or black and white. I would think color but I prefer black and white for the quality of no distracting colors.
thank you again for your time and knowledge
