Backstage 2007: a few photos

Just discovered a new slideshow program and am playing around with it, here are some photos from backstage at the fashion shows in Milan.

I really like the images Dave. Well done. With two fingers on my trackpad, I can really rip through them if desired too. Clean & speedy. B/W conversions look good as well. Are you doing that in PS, or using a plug-in?

So what’s the slideshow application?

having problems loading it with Firefox on Mac with all the plugins necessary…
Get the opening page which looks great but then nada

Hmmm… Con, I just downloaded Firefox, installed it, checked the load images preference and the slideshow is working fine for me, though the pictures render just a touch light.

Jethro,

The app is called SlideshowMovie, a $14 app made by a Swedish outfit that is well worth the money IMO. I spent a lot of time using iMovie 08, Quicktime, etc. and having lots of headaches with colors being rendered horribly wrong, or slideshows being inexplicably huge files. It also has the neat automated upload to your .Mac account. Very easy to use… I’m very happy with it.

The B&W is with a PS plug-in, PowerRetouche I think it’s called, which is expensive and takes a while to figure out and get used to but it’s the best solution I’ve found without becoming a complete pixel nerd in the process.

Martin Fuchs used to have a great conversion action on his site http://www.journalofaphotographer.com

It’s the one I use, with a few changes after the action. The site is down now, but I can upload it for others to use if anyone is interested.

Thanks Dave. I’ll check those out. My favorite B/W plug-in was called Convert to B/W Pro 3.0 by the imaging factory. It was just like working in a darkroom (filters, multigrade contrast,... ) it had great grain to boot. Unfortunately, the creator is bowing out, so it doesn’t work with CS3 on intel macs.

Didn’t think a backstage shoot would be me cup o’tea but you’ve really got something going on there. Kudos sir, kudos.

OH lol I thought they were yours…

Really nice Dave. The slideshow is working for me now too. It had to be the server underperforming.

Really, really nice. Mustafah was right on the money about the second frame.
