Advertising, corporate or commercial - pitching & percentage?

This one is for all the advertising, corporate and commercial shooters on this board.

Are the following two things common in the industry? I prefer insights from european shooters, but all you US and canadian photographers are highly welcome to response aswell.

1.) Pitching. Do you pitch for advertising, commercial or corporate assignments? Something like a free test-shooting, etc.?

2.) An ad-agency, which regulary booked me for their clients, now wants a percentage of my payment. Is this common for advertising, commercial or corporate work?
