About

Beck Diefenbach (b. 1985) is freelance photojournalist based in San Francisco, Calif.

A San Francisco native and a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he most recently worked as a staff photographer for the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb, Ill. During his two years at that newspaper, he has received 26 individual photo awards for his documentary, sports and portrait work.

During Diefenbach’s time in college as the multimedia producer, The Daily Illini, won an Online Pacemaker from the Associated Collegiate Press.

Following college, he interned at the Naperville Sun, the South Bend Tribune and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

In October of 2010, Diefenbach attended the 23rd annual Eddie Adams Photojournalism Workshop in New York.
