After many years photographing for foundations and schools across the country, as well as editorial work focusing on children, education and social issues, Susie is now documenting education in Seattle. She is working with the Seattle Public Schools (K-12), Arts Corps (arts education), Writers in the Schools and various local outdoor education programs. The resulting library of strong and affecting images is available for licensing in editorial and educational projects.
Over the course of her career Susie’s work has been featured in publications about education, health care,and social issues affecting families, including many textboks, as well as in LIFE magazine, People, Washington Post Magazine and Educational Leadership. Her early photographs illustrated books for children written by Frank and Ada Graham, and her work has been included in The Family of Children, Photographing Children (Time-Life Books); Exploring Photography (BBC); and Ruth Silverman’s Athletes and The Dog – 100 Years.
