Blueeyes Magazine | Issue 14

Dear friends,

Happy new years! I’m very happy to finally announce the
publication of Blueeyes Magazine’s 14th issue, with incredible new
photography from Matt Black and Mikhael Subotzky. Issue 14’s
essays document two separate hidden communities linked by each
photographer’s passion for connecting our lives to those we may
easily lose sight of within the larger global picture.

We welcome you to take a look at the new issue, and also encourage
a stroll through our archive, which includes a couple of newly
added projects from the past. Thanks to you for your support of
the magazine and documentary photography, and also to our
contributors’ for their amazing work.

All Best,

John Loomis

great and inspiring work, and as always matt’s photographs are so sublime and beautiful. it is obvious how much he loves mexico. nice compilation of work, best of luck on all your future issues.

Yes, great stuff from mexico. (Hate the way half the picture disappears when you look at the caption though.)

The panorama in the south african prison cell is more than clever too, and some other nice pictures in the set.

Another really fine issue.

Thanks all.

Matt’s work is very, very good—so good that I was pretty shocked when I first saw his Joaquin Valley project last year and hadn’t already heard of him.

Peter, the captions/image navigation is currently being looked at actually, and we hope to have a new approach in place sometime soon that will manage to be even more sophisticated and invisible to the viewing experience.

Best,
- jdl
