Bob Rauschenberg passed away
|
I loved this man..and I owe him every gratitude for inspiring me with his work.
“I don’t ever want to go,” he told Harper’s when asked about dying. “I don’t have a sense of great reality about the next world; my feet are too ugly to wear those golden slippers. But I’m working on my fear of it. And my fear is that something interesting will happen, and I’ll miss it.”

wow…now, im getting old…i used to see, occassionally, bob wyhen i lived in SW florida, not far from his Island retreat…
a spirit of such immensity, that his zest and hunger, even more than his work, were some of the things which inspired me and others to “play in the field of life” with making things…
he’s shining down upon each and all…

That guy had a heap of fun with his art, no wonder he was pissed off with possibly missing something interesting

Holy cow! He wasn’t that old . Was he sick? One of the icons of my art school generation. Ciao R.R.

Ouch.. That hurts… (his disappearance)

There is a great show of him in Munich. Built up just some days ago. He lives on in his work.
