Recent PostThe Virginian-Pilot Summer InternshipsDescription: Reporters – Copy Editors – Photographers – Page Designers The Virginian-Pilot internships are highly competitive. Therefore, experience working on a college publication is a must, and a previous internship at a daily newspaper is a plus. Multimedia experience welcome. Reporters and photographers will need their own car. Sophomores and graduate students also are eligible. (you must be still enrolled in school in December 2009). Then here’s what you need to do: 1) Submit a cover letter and a resume that includes the names of three references. 2) Reporters, copy editors and designers should submit a print portfolio that includes eight to 10 published work samples showing the range of your best writing, page layout or headline writing. 3) Photographers and graphic artists should submit a print portfolio that includes at least 20 printed samples of published photographs or illustrations. 4) Send your completed packet to: Denise Bridges, Director of Newsroom Recruitment, The Virginian-Pilot, 150 W. Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510. Application Deadline: December 1, 2009. Packets postmarked after December 1 will not be reviewed.
