About
Brian Smith began his photography career as a high school swimmer clearly not destined for the Olympics in the pool. At age 20, his first magazine photograph was published in LIFE Magazine. Four years later, he made it to the Olympics, after all, winning a Pulitzer Prize for his photographs of the Los Angeles Olympics. Smith’s photographs of famous and infamous faces of the noteworthy and notorious have graced the covers and pages of hundreds of magazines and won top awards in Communication Arts, World Press Photo and the Pictures of the Year. Three million miles later on assignments to six continents, Smith can often be found in the bulkhead aisle seat on a flight headed to the Caribbean, Latin America or the American South from his Miami Beach, Florida home.
