Cams for Mexico City kids!!
Our students in Nezahualcoyotl need your help. If you have an old camera, please donate it to Project Luz…and please forward the following:

Call for Donations
After a year of successful work, Project Luz is moving forward to the state of México. Project 3 will take place June 23-30, 2008.
A team of art educators and photojournalists will work with teenagers of Nezahualcóyotl, a sprawling dusty expanse of low-income housing, and the second most populous municipality in the state of México. It is also considered among one of the most dangerous places in México, due to rampant crime in the area.
Photojournalists will teach photojournalism and story-telling skills to the students, while creating awareness about social issues present in their lives. As always, Project Luz needs the support of friends and the art community to succeed. They currently seek donations of old or new digital/film cameras for the students. If you feel you can donate or assist them in obtaining camera donations, please contact Project Luz founder, Jasmin Lopez by email:

This project is shaping up to be awesome….
The community center in Neza is donating space and all sorts of community hookups…
But, more cams needed! The more cams, the more kids get to learn some journalism and express some art, and just have a good time.
Thanks all!
