Hi, please anybody knows, if the following customisation is possible? 1DmIII AF sel. button for changing aperture in M mode, just like in 1DmIIn…
I have been trying to reproduce my favourite controls (set up using custom functions) from 1D/1DmIIn and 1Ds in my new 1DmIII. I am using all of the cameras, usually 1DmIIn with 1DmIII.
I have set up the older cameras so that the rear dial cycles trough nine outer AF points directly, and when in Manual exp. mode, I press the AF Selection (rightmost thumb button) to change the aperture (with main control dial controlling the shutter speed in M). Using the * for thumb focus.
Now, with my new 1DmIII, I can set up the * for thumbfocus, I can set up the rear dial for direct selection of 9 outer focus points, but I can’t by gods assign the AF Sel. button for aperture selection in Manual exp. mode :-/
Is there some custom function combination I overlooked, or am I stuck with Canon’s oversight again?
The way it worked when one selected rear dial for direct AF point selection, the +/- and AF Sel. buttons basically switched places in Manual mode. Whereas now the 1DmIII defaults for +/- button to change aperture in M, which is way awkward key combination to reach quickly and comfortably :-(
Please help :)
Thanks, Frantisek
