Carlos Garcia Rawlins, born 1979 in Venezuela, has worked as a freelance photographer since 2007. Currently works as a stringer photographer for Reuters and he also works as a part-time photography teacher at Roberto Mata Taller de Fotografia based in the city of Caracas. In November 2007 his work was exhibited at Albacete Documental in Spain, in 2008 and 2009 his work was published on the editions of the book Our World Now. He won Silver in the War & Disaster News category in The China International Press Photo Contest 2009. In 2010 his work was selected in two of the most important Art Salons in Venezuela, the Aragua Art Salon and the Arturo Michelena Biennial.
Garcia Rawlins’s work has been published in New York Times, Time, MSNBC, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, USA Today, Newsweek, Sunday Star, The Guardian, Stern, Liberation, Le Monde, Corriere Della Sera, The Time of India and in many South American newspapers among others.
