Born 1972 in Halle/ Saale in German Democratic Republic. Start to work as a photographer for different german newspapers in 1992. Member of german photoagency VISUM IMAGES. Since 2005 regular stringer for Getty Imges News. Specialization in news, politics and social issues in eastern europe. Has published in Der Spiegel, Stern, Die Zeit, Focus, National Geographic Germany, El Pais Magazine, The Times, The Boston Globe, Franfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Sueddeutsche Zeitung as well as numerous other publications in the Germany and abroad.
