CBS Journalist Cammie McCormick Injured in IED Blast
|
CBS radio journalist Cammie McCormick was injured today, Friday, Aug. 28, 12:30 PM in Logar Province, Afghanistan, when an IED blast detonated under her armored vehicle (ASV) just outside of Chark on Boston Road. She is currently undergoing surgery for several fractures, including a serious fractures to the left foot.
I am currently embedded with the US Army in Logar Province and happened to be at the ER where she was brought right after the IED blast. I believe I am the only one as of now who knows about her injury. Neither her family nor has CBS news have been contacted regarding her condition because she has been incapacitated. Is there any way that someone could please email me a contact at CBS (an editor?) so that I can notify them / her editors / and family?
Thank you. Please keep Ms. McCormick in your thoughts and prayers.

The local PAO should have contacted CBS by now. Thanks for the word. Hope she’s ok.

I just got in touch with CBS (as did the PAO) in New York, and we are putting her in touch with family, etc. Thanks Bill.

Good to hear she’s ok, Erin. Is she on her way out?
|
wishing her the best in recovery.
Seems to be the year of IEDs.
Going out to Logar today but not with military.
in my thoughts.
