Cheap Hotels in Sao Paolo

Hi All

Anyone have any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels in Sao Paolo?

OR if anyone knows someone that has some floor space to crash on let me know. I will be in Brazil from March 1 if that helps.

hi mark, i would try some of the cheap hotels in the liberdade quarter. its the japanese quarter in sao paulo, most of the budget hotels are located there. you can also find lots of great sushi in liberdade!

Mark, Sao Paulo isn’t a cheap city at all… try to contact fellow LS there for some tips. I have never stayed in hotels there. good luck.

mark, in sao paulo i stayed with some friends, but i think that you might be able to get a room with private bath for around 20-30$ a night. a good idea would be to ask photographer rafael jacinto from ciadefoto, he´s a very nice guy and will help you for sure. i´m pass his email in a pm. ps. their website is worth checking out, they have some very good projects running: www.ciadefoto.com.br

Hi everyone

Just an update. I have been in communication with a few people and I have some links for hostels(Thanks Tatiana) but would much prefer to rent a private room.

Maybe I should of made that clear at the start.

I would prefer this to a hostel, although a hostel may be my only option.

Another thing- Whats the best way to get from the airport to Central Sao Paolo/area for the hostels? I arrive late evening. I would imagine public transport would be a bit crazy? How much would a taxi cost me, so I don’t get stung in my first hour.

Look forward to it anyway.

What tiem are you arriving in São Paulo?. There is a comftable Bus line coming from Airport to Plaza da Republica (heart of Central São Paolo), I thing price is about 12 Euro (Equivalent). You did not get in contact with the guy I told you?

My flight arrives at 17.30. I think I will get the bus into Sao Paolo.

It looks like I will have to stay at a hostel because I have not been able to arrange any accommodation privately. I did email Rafael but as yet have not had a reply.

I have his number so I might call him. I have 2 assignments to do in Sao Paolo so will be very busy and may need to arrange a fixer for 1 of them.

Would you like to meet for lunch one day next week? Would be great to meet up.

Yeap, At 17:30 you´d get a comftable and cheap bus to São Paolo Central. It´s weird he did not answer as he´ve said it was ok, but….anyway. One idea is to get a place and then call him.

Sure, would be good to meet one day next week, I think you might have my cell phone, so drop me a call.

Ideally somewhere close to Rua Lisboa, getting lost in Sao Paolo is becoming a bit of a pass time, although I did take the metro today with Guto which was pretty straight forward.
