Hi there,
over the years I once in a while helped colleagues with information they needed to do an assignment in Egypt.
But over the past 12 months I started to have so many requests from international TV stations and magazines who were researching their topics on the internet, found my work and then contacted me for in depth information, contacts, advice ect. Only 2 weeks ago an English TV station wrote to me and then called me for a whole hour to get the needed info. Now I have a request from a TV programm in New York. But I decided that I don’t want to give my time and knowledge for free anymore. First it took me years to have this tremendous contacts in Egypt and knowing the place so well, that I can’t see a reason why I should just pass it on to everybody and second it takes a lot of my time to provide this service.
What would be a resonable fee to charge and how do I tell them in a polite but clear way that my service is not for free?
Any advise would be highly appreciated.
Thank you
and best regards,
Claudia
