Colin Crowley

I am a 28 yr old freelance photographer/videographer. I speak fluent French and am very interested in photography in the 3rd world as a means of fostering exchange between cultures in the “1st World” and the developing world. I have lived in mainland France and on the Island of Réunion, and I have carried out media projects for small NGOs in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and most recently Kenya. I will be spending the fall of 2007 in Mombasa Kenya to produce a documentary about children with AIDS for an NGO that provides ARVs to children in East Africa. My main goal in photographing people in developing countries is to try to convey the dignity and intelligence that they possess despite the adverse situations that surround them. Ideally, I am looking to foster dialogue between cultures through media project exchanges.
