Contact in Chad
|
Im hoping to head to Chad sometime in August or September. However, Im going one my own, unconnected with a news organization or an NGO. As such, Im trying to contact people who have been there or are there now. Any advice or contacts would be greatly appreciated.
Im also looking for an NGO that might be willing to give me some organizational backup while Im there perhaps in exchange for some photo work. Im not sure who I might have the best luck approaching… .. Alexandra Huddleston Adh2103@yahoo.com

chad is a hard place to go unless you’re attached. i was there last year photographing for the international medical corps and getting from Ndjamena to abeche and then to the camps is quite a beurocratic process. i’m not sure if it’s something you’d feel comfortable with, but i know that there is a bus, which takes about two days to travel from Ndjamena to abeche by dirt road….could be an interesting thing to shoot and would save you a bundle because chad is quite expensive. there’s also a safe and relatively cheap hotel called the sahel i believe, which will be loads cheaper than the meridian or novotel, which run nearly 200+ a night unless you get the “UN rate”
