About
Dana Meilijson was born in 1978 in Caracas, Venezuela.
At age 16 she began her University studies in Architecture,
switching to Literature two and a half years later.
The study of discourse, with its verbal and nonverbal dual
forms, appealed to her Arts and Letters nature and led to
her plan to study the interaction between word and image
as forms of expression. With this goal in mind, Dana
complemented her Literature studies with courses in
Photography, and wrote her final dissertation for the B.A.
in Literature at the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello on Monsters in
Joel Peter Witkin’s Photographs.
Dana, now 26, finished her studies at the International Center of Photography
in New York City and works and lives in the same city.
