I live in Thailand, but I’m sending a camera to Japan for a warranty shutter repair (warranty only covers repairs at Canon Japan, not BKK). I had an incident a few years ago where I got screwed on customs duties when a repaired camera returned to Thailand from the States. I definitely want to avoid that this time.

Does anyone know of a proper customs procedure or forms I need to fill out before sending the camera to Japan, so when it returns it avoids an import duty?
