David H. Lyman founded The Maine Photographic Workshops in 1973, and was it’s principal director for 33 years. In 1975, David established The International Film Workshops and in 1996 he founded Rockport College, a conservatory for the world’s image-makers and storytellers.
David organizes educational programs for photographers, filmmakers and digital video journalists . . . world-wide, including field projects, publications, mentorships and professional career advice. These programs are for committed photographers and journalists, college students and serious amateurs.
David lectures and writes on the life of the concerned artist, the Creative Process and the Transformational Experience.
David recently sold The Maine Workshops and formed a new company: Photographic Workshops International, which developes workshop and field experiences in Europe, African, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South American and New Orleans, LA. Many of these programs will be held in conjunction with The Maine Photographic Workshops, other will be held through his new company.
David is world-class sailor, adventurer, writer and photographer. He lives with his family in Rockport, Maine.
