Digigraphie, quality label or not ?

Since 2003 Epson has established a reflection comittee with some photographers to try to define a quality label for inkjet printings.
Art photo prints are nowadays C-prints or Cibachrome prints, Does Digigraphie Label is going to be the new reference ?
Could we trust in new technologies and is it really going to bring us something else ?
