Doug MacLellan is a Canadian photojournalist based in Windsor, Canada. He specializes in long-term photo essays of a social and cultural nature.
He studied photography at Conestoga College from 1979 to 1981. After his studies he accepted a position as photographer for the ‘World Run to End Hunger’ which allowed him to travel to various African countries in 1985. He was the official Hockey Hall of Fame Photographer from 1987 to 1997 and an official photographer at the Toronto International Film Festival during the same period. Today he pursues self-directed documentary projects about daily life in sub-Saharan Africa, Native Hockey in Canada, Public Protest and Lovecry – the Street Peoples’ Organisation. As well, he has a large body of imagery about his family and their relationships with other family and friends.
His photographs appear in magazines, books and exhibitions both in Canada and abroad.
