Douglas Tesner is an experienced newspaper and freelance photojournalist who currently resides in Traverse City, Michigan and works full time for the Travers City Record-Eagle Newspaper.

Doug is retired military photojournalist, graduated from Syracuse University’s Navy Program in Photojournalism and has won many photographic awards include the prestigious Navy Photojournalist of the Year and Honorable Mention Military Photographer of the Year.
Recently at the Record-Eagle he won 3 individual awards in the 2005 Michigan Press Associations Better Newspaper Awards, three awards from the Michigan Press Photographers Association Monthly Clip Contest in 2005 and one national award from the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar for sports action. In addition, his photographs have been selected for MSNBC Week in Pictures, Washington Post’s Camera Works, Day in Photos and San Francisco Chronicle’s Day in Pictures. He has also won 3 NM APME awards for 2002, and a News Photo award for NPPA’s April 2002 regional (Region 8) clip contest.
