Melbourne-based ex-politician, strategic scientist and businessman, turned photographer in 2001. South African by birth, New Zealander by citizenship, Australian by choice. I have a wide variety of photographic and journalistic interests but I have a special interest in conflict reporting, social commentary and the exposure of injustice through documentary photography.
Like Don McCullin, I believe that photographs tell the truth if the camera is in the hands of a truthful person.
OBJECTIVES FOR 2014: 1. “Do” a regional conflict. 2. Do one or two short assignments for an NGO (any NGO will do) in Asia. 3. Make my bank manager happy and put some cash into my account. 4. Don’t get bombed or shot – or arrested.
