Dublin Lightstalkers Convention
Well, rather typically, we’re “advertising” this after the fact, and there was only two of us, but Kim Haughton and I met for coffee in the Irish Film Institute yesterday, next door to the Gallery of Photography, where the “What Remains” exhibition on cluster bombs is taking place.
Anymore Dublin Lightstalkers lurking out there?

Sean and Con, where are you guys?
Coffee/Dublin , it doesn’t sound right… if we get Guinness or Jameson to sponsor the next LS gig, we might get a few more punters!
Just dropped in to Dublin for a couple of days. Out soon though. Nice city. Nice people. Nice break from the English! ;)
Coffee/Dublin doesn’t sound right now that Bewley’s is gone, right?
Paul, you’re behind the curve. Bewleys on Grafton St. is livelier than ever – but there’s better coffee in a myriad other places.
Right then, next convention in… Grogans?
Haven’t been there in a long, long time. Sad to say.
I plan to bring an exhibition there in a year or two though.
Next convention in Grogans? I’ll be there for sure… just let me know date and time.
Just the mere mention of a pint, and they’re coming from Thailand! I see you’re in Dublin June 5th – I’m off to Chile on the 20th, and I think Kim might be off somewhere too, so how about Monday June 9th or so?
Monday June 9th is my birthday. I’ll be there in spirit.
9th of june sounds good to me. how would 8pm suit?
Sounds good. I’ll check with Kim. Is Grogans ok? It’s almost a bit retro for flashing about l-series lens and laptops.
ah, nuts.
Due back from Dublin on June 8th, but moving back full time at the end of July. It’s too sunny in Barca and the food too tasty. If you’re in Grogans say ‘hi’ to Alison, and Arthur for that matter :) Catch yous later in the summer i suppose.
well, Grogans sounds nice but Mulligans or Stag’s Head are always good options (and good pints of the black stuff…)
Two guys sitting at the bar in Grogans, supping on black pints.
Barfly 1: Hey Jack, you working on anything at the moment? Barfly 2: Oh, yeah, writing that book, y’know. Barfly 1: Yeah, neither am I.
Con, that was an arbitary date. Paulo’s back on the 5th, you flee on the 8th – surely we can figure out something in between?
wow, nice shot of Grogans!
aah.. Grogans.. the old stomping ground.. sounds good, I’m in. Love their old fashioned toasted cheese sandwiches served in the plastic wrapping. Any other ladies out there? Or will I be blessed amongst men I wonder.
I’m a on a whirlwind tour of Lismore, Kinsale and Durrow and leaving only skidmarks in Dublin. I’ll catch yous next time, promise.
And check out that flickr guys stream, he’s a load of my favourite pubs in dublin shot digi-pano style – great for the times you miss the boozer.

Right lads, just checking in on this again. Say 8pm on the 9th?
I’ll be joining you all as well!
Hay can I come too, I will try and behave my self
If you’re going to behave yourself, there’s not much point in coming.
Folks, just a headsup on this; my mobile number is on my profile, in case a) you can find the pub, or 2) you can’t find us in the pub. If for some reason it’s too packed, we’ll decamp to somewhere else, so remember to bring my phone number!
Here’s a map showing where Grogans is on William St
Monday, 8pm. Seeya there.

See you all in a little while!
