sorry for the late notice, deadline is July 1.
duPont Awards Call for Online Entries
The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards for excellence in broadcast journalism are expanding the categories of entries for 2008-2009 to include Web-only news broadcasts. The jury will look for the best example of an original news story using video or audio that is broadcast exclusively online. The deadline for entries is July 1, 2009.
We encourage the submission of daily news stories and breaking news coverage as well as feature stories, a series of related reports or selections from a journalist’s beat reporting in a given year. A series of reports or a submission of a single reporter’s work should demonstrate consistently high quality over time.
The duPont Awards, administered since 1968 by Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, were created as a tribute to the journalistic integrity and public-mindedness of Alfred I. duPont. The awards are considered to be the most prestigious broadcast journalism awards and the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prizes, which are also administered at the Journalism School.
To be eligible, stories must have aired for the first time between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
