I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I got a degree in engineering, but switched to photography in 1997, when I engaged in a 15-month long overland journey across Asia. Since then I have travelled and photographed intensively around the globe, telling stories through my photos and texts and, more recently, through video as well.
In 2000 I moved to London, where I lived and worked for 8 years and studied photojournalism and documentary photography at the London College of Communications.
For my personal projects, I am naturally interested about subjects dealing with cultural identity and development, to name just a couple. But I have covered all sorts of subjects over the past 15 years through various assignments for the main British and international media, NGOs and various organisations.
I am part of the network of international photographers collaborating with London-based Panos Pictures.
I am based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, since 2009 and I am available for international assignments such as reportage, NGO, portraiture and commercial photography and video, in Brazil or elsewhere in Latin America.
