Edward Solayao is a hobbyist photographer who’s been in-love with photography since childhood. Brought up in a middle class family and rural environment of Samar (Philippines), he grew up appreciating the beauty of nature and surroundings. It has always been his desire to capture the images of the world around him, and try to relate himself to it, or else make a story out of it.
He graduated with honors during his elementary and high school years in Sacred Heart College of Catbalogan. He pushed through his way to college and in 1995, he graduated in B.S. Civil Engineering in the prestigious Mapua Institute of Technology. That same year, he successfully hurdled the professional licensure exams.
His rigorous exposure to architectural and civil engineering works both in the Philippines and in the Middle East didn’t stop him from going back to his old-time passion of photography. And this time, having the resources available in his disposal, he painstakingly pursued to get his first SLR camera and re-lived the long-lost love.
He continues to frame and shoot all that captivates his vision, hoping that one day he will be able to contribute to make this world a better place, even at his own little ways.
