Edy Purnomo

I am freelance photojournalist based in Jakarta, Indonesia.Began career as a photojournalist as a stringer for Agence France Press at Jakarta Bureau 1998, then with Getty Images News service to cover news and features in Indonesian and the countries nearby in 2001-2003. Now with Jiwafoto, Jakarta photo Agency, completed assignments for various local and International Medias as well as NGOs such as UNICEF, UN World Food Programs(WFP), CARE International, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Austrian SOS kinderdorf, among others. My journalistic works have appeared in publication including, Time Asia, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Australian, Mens World, Asian Wall Street Journal, Asian Geographic, International Samenwerking Netherland, Marie France, FEM Business Netherland, Volkskrant magazine Netherland, Bloomberg News. In the year of 2000 I got an award for the book project entitled “Dawn of the 21st Century”. In November 2005, I exhibited my first personal photo project “Rel Waktu” at Antara Photojournalistic Gallery. I also a teacher at Panna Institute of Photography in Jakarta, and give some seminars and lectures of photojournalistic at some universities in Indonesia.
