Emily Rasinski is a photojournalist and multimedia storyteller based in St. Louis. Most recently, she was a staff photographer at The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Rasinski was raised in Ohio and is an honors graduate of Kent State University. Prior to working at the Post-Dispatch, she worked at newspapers in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Ohio.
She has won numerous awards for her work. In 2009 she was part of the Pulitzer Finalist team recognized for their coverage of the Kirkwood City Hall shootings. The same year she was also named Runner-up Illinois Multimedia Photographer of the Year. In 2008 the National Press Photographers Association named her 3rd place Photographer of the Year (small markets). Other recognition include awards from the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, the Southern Short Course in News Photography, the Northern Short Course in Photojournalsim, the Pennsylvania Newspapers Association, and the Ohio News Photographers Association.
Rasinski is an avid runner, recently completing her first marathon. She loves the outdoors, gardening, sports, traveling and is always up for a challenge, whether its competing in an ice cream eating challenge or building a cardboard boat to race. In her spare time she volunteers with the Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
