About
Eric Johnson studied photojournalism at San Francisco State University and has shot numerous documentary and photojournalism photography projects over the past 15 years. His projects have taken him from the streets of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District to many corners of the globe in Latin America, Asia and Africa working to educate the public about endangered cultures, threatened environments, or current topics of social concern.
“Foo-Foo Dust” was his first documentary film which enjoyed many accolades, including: Best Documentary Short, Los Angeles Film Festival; Special Jury Prize, AFI-Silverdocs Film Festival; Short-listed, Academy Award in Documentary Shorts Category; Nominee, IDA Documentary Achievement Award. Eric was named one of Filmmakers Magazines “25 NEW FACES OF INDIE FILM” and served on the Documentary Jury for French film festival 3 Continents 2004 located in Nantes, France. Eric currently lives and travels between New York and Mexico City.
