After shooting televsion news for 12 years, I left for a job in Kenya to document the story of 35 young girls in a U.S. sponsored “safe house”. Their stories changed my life.
It is my mission statment to use my skills as a camerawomen to help the women and children of the world tell their own story. I was able to be in Kenya when the Women of Kenya were fighting for their rights as a witness to the passing of The Sexual Offenses Bill. The women leaders and young girls who were survivors of gender violence allowed me to tell their story.
I have been back to Kenya to work with The Clarence Foundation on their first Traveling Giving Circle which focused on Women and Children living in Nairobi’s slums. We produced a video and a photography exhibit that will accompany a speakers series.
I shoot Beta, P2, HD and mini-DV formats. Always looking for advice and here to help others out.
